Renan Kneipp is a 28-year-old singer and songwriter from Juiz de Fora, Brazil. Drawing from R&B, pop, and folk, he creates a unique sound with each song. He’s the proud “dad” of two adorable mutts, Zeca and Joca, and has been living in Barcelona, Spain for a few months.

For Renan, music is all about connecting people from different backgrounds and perspectives. He aims to turn his experiences into relatable stories, whether they’re deep or light-hearted. Having lived in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Renan uses the emotions from his experiences, his highs and lows, struggles and successes, to tell often-overlooked details of those moments.

In 2018, he released his first single, “Pilot,” a light and sensitive song about love in all its forms—self-love, friendship, and romance. In 2019, he explored his favorite genre further with “Arrepio,” a more sensual and intimate R&B track. At that point, he decided it was time to write a complete project.

In 2021, during the pandemic, he released the EP “¼” to celebrate his 25th birthday and his journey so far. The project features songs like “Save the Little Boy,” a folk piece with deep lyrics and a memorable melody, the irreverent pop track “Carente,” and three more original songs.

Renan said goodbye to Brazil in September 2023, and two days before leaving, he had his first show, aptly titled “Despedida – Meu Primeiro Show” (Farewell – My First Show). This leap in his music career and the immersion in a new culture aligns perfectly with the release of “Mineirinho.” Reflecting on his past, present, and future, Renan says, “Each day, I feel prouder of everything I’ve lived and where I come from. The further I get from Juiz de Fora, the more fondly I look back, and that shows in my music too. This project is a celebration of my journey so far.”

To celebrate the two-year anniversary of his first EP, “¼,” Renan decided to release a deluxe version in November 2023. This marked the transition from the Renan Kneipp of 2021 to his new direction with the project “Sex Sells Vol.1.” This deluxe version includes the original five singles, an intimate R&B cover of Só Pra Contrariar’s classic “Mineirinho,” and a song composed by his father in 1987 in honor of his sister, Juliana.

Finally, after 3 years since his first EP, Renan is about to begin a new phase in his career with ‘Sex Sells Vol. 1’, a project where he invites each listener to come closer and experience an intimate an vulnerable journey with him. It contains the R&B ‘Ego Kills Humanity’, the folk ‘Lose The Rings, Keep The Fingers’, the groovy and energetic ‘Desires Of The Flesh’ and two other songs in Portuguese.
